One of the most CONTROVERSAL issues WITHIN the transgender community is that PUBLIC sexual promiscuity by some(NOT to be confused with being sexy, sensual, flirty, or wearing sexy clothing)is damaging to the transgender image. Is a lack of sexual restraint by some and the portrayal of transgender people in film and media as purely sex driven--damaging our image and pursuit of equal rights? This topic has had FANTASTIC RESPONSES FROM EVERY DIRECTION, NOW we just need answers on HOW to move FORWARD.

The L.A. Times finally published its long anticipated article on Christine Daniels/Mike Penner. I am posting it here for all to ready and share your thoughts and comments. I believe there is something here for all of us to learn: to seek help, reach out or turn to one another when outside pressure overcomes our abilities to cope. Maybe Christine, in her own way, had hoped others might learn and grow from the happiness that she felt inside but apparently eluded her in her social surroundings.
